TAYLOR, CORA ANN - We wish to announce the death of Cora Ann Taylor, wife of David G. Taylor, of Fredericton, N.B, on Saturday, February 15, 2014. She was the daughter of the late George and Anne (Jennings) Campbell. Cora was born in Charlottetown, PE, on September 29th, 1944. Cora graduated from the Commercial Program at St. Vincent's High School in June of 1962. She found employment with The New Brunswick Telephone Co., Ltd. later that same month. In 1974 she became a stay at home "Mom" for 5 years and then returned to the work force at NBTel. She retired from the telephone company in 2000. Cora was a life member of Bell Aliant Pioneers, volunteer collector for 20 years with The Heart and Stroke Foundation as well as a volunteer collector for the Canadian Cancer Society. She sponsored children in Mongolia through World Vision and was a dedicated donor of money and food to the SPCA in Fredericton. In her spare time Cora enjoyed golfing at Kingswood Golf Club, senior bowling at the Kingswood alleys, skating, biking, walking and gardening. She loved to travel and visited Europe, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Florida and Mexico. Her greatest love (besides her husband and son) was for animals. Cora is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dave; son, Rob Taylor (Mabel) of Surrey, B.C; sisters, Peggy Arsenault (Fred) of Bedford, N.S and Donna Stauffer (Peter) of Scarborough, ON; brother, Bill Campbell (Jane) of Moncton, N.B; and her precious nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Alan and Teddy Campbell.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 19th, 2014 at 12:05 pm with Fr. Bill Brennan officiating. A reception will follow in the Monsignor Boyd Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cora's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Fredericton SPCA or the charity of the donor's choice.
