(November 30, 1941 - February 16, 2014) - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center - Palliative Care Unit, in the presence of his loving family after a courageous nine year battle with cancer, Kevin Norman, age 72 years. Predeceased by his wife June (nee Antle) in 2000, and his parents John and Theresa. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons Rodney (Diane), Kevin (Wanda), and his daughter Michelle (Dave); two precious grandchildren, poppy's boys, Andrew and Lucas, and special friend Patricia Mercer; brothers: Leonard (Jane), John (Joyce, deceased), Paul (Glenys), Robert, Don (Maureen); sisters: Joan (Joshua), Judith and Elizabeth; sisters-in-law: Edith Lester, Shirley Butt (Mac), Genevieve Milani (Jim), Dorothy Cofield, Marjorie Clark (Don), Patricia Dicks (Dom) and Alice Antle; brothers-in-law: Bill Auchinleck and Fred Vail. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, as well as special cousin Noreen Simms (Herb). The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, Dr. Siddiqui, and the staff at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Monday, February 17 and Tuesday, February 18, from 10am-12noon, 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will take place from Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Torbay Road, on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 9:30am, with cremation to follow. Interment will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at 2:00pm. Kevin lived his life to the fullest and was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Cancer may have taken his life but it never conquered his spirit.
