Passed peacefully away at the Long Term Care Home, Corner Brook, on Jan. 26th, 2014, with family at her ­bedside, Alice Margaret Martin at the age of 101 years. Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Eric (2004); ­parents, H.B. Clyde & Sarah Valetta Lake; siblings: Spencer (Alma), Margaret, Gertrude (John Leishman), Harold, Beatrice (Michael Elwood). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: her son, Robert (Rexine), Bonne Bay Pond; grandchildren: Jodi-Anne (Gus Hunt), Okotoks, AB, Joel (Michell), Pasadena; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Hailey, Samuel and Kieran; sister-in-law, Robin Lake, St John’s; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a large circle of friends. Special thanks to “Margaret’s Angels”, the staff of 4 South, Partridgeberry Place and Dr. Chris Whitten for all their loving care and patience. Special thanks also to her “wheelchair walking” buddies. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Humber Valley United Church in Pasadena on Thursday, Feb. 20th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Tony Newell officiating. A reception to follow at Bonnell Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, Humber Valley United Church or West Haven Camp. Internment at a later date in St. John’s.
