HAMILTON, BARRY M. - The death of Barry M. Hamilton, husband of Nancy (Scott) (Ratcliffe) Hamilton occurred at Bobby's Hospice on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the age of 63. He was the son of the late John and Muriel (Williams) Hamilton born and raised in Fairvale, NB with brothers Jack (Cookie), Robert (Gwen), Brian, Paul (Debbie) and Gordon (Angie) and one sister Ann Keating (Paul). He was predeceased by his brother Bruce and sister-in-law Lisa. He is also survived by two daughters Christine Rogers (Richard) and Lori Soucy (Jason); two step-daughters Rachelle Ratcliffe and Kim Pappas; granddaughters Maddy Rogers and Bella and Libby Soucy; step-granddaughters Jasmine and Jessica Ratcliffe and one step-great granddaughter Amelia; sister-in-law Pauline Hamilton; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family was Barry's first priority and greatest love in life. He always had a smile and first to lend a helping hand. He wore many "hats" through his life, each with pride and dedication. His friends, who were too numerous to count would describe him as "Happy Go Lucky" and "One of A Kind". If you were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him during his life you knew he was someone extraordinary and very special. His memory will live on in the hearts of family and friends for many years to come. Barry never had an idle moment; he was happiest when he was busy. In his younger years he was often seen playing baseball and hockey with friends or working on his car, or that of a friend. Classic cars have remained one of his greatest interests through the years as well as photography, he also loved fishing. and boating on the Kennebecasis. He became a full time firefighter in the 80's with the Rothesay Regional Fire Department (now Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department). He retired in June of 2010 after 25 years of dedicated service. He became a volunteer bus driver at Kingsway Care Center, enjoying the seniors and their stories of local history and families. He later was a bus driver with Ambassatours (Greylines) in Saint John driving tourists from the Cruise Ships around the city, meeting so many interesting people from all walks of life. He was a "People" person and happiest surrounded by people. His urn was handcrafted by his brother Paul. We wish to thank Bobby's Hospice for the wonderful care during Barry's stay.
