STEEVES, MILDRED B. - Mildred B. Steeves, 92, of Serenacare, Moncton and formerly of Mount Royal Blvd., Moncton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Wesley M. Steeves (1991). Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late J. Leonard and Bertha (Brown) Heans. Also predeceased by her siblings, Kenneth, Helen Hamilton, Elizabeth MacFarlane and grandson, Jeffrey Steeves. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Central United Church, the UCW within the church, and the Engineers Wives Group. As well as being a full time homemaker, she enjoyed many community activities over the years including curling, figure skating officiating, bridge, round/square dancing and hanging out with the neighbours. Her greatest joy was spending precious time with her family. Mildred’s gentle and kind demeanour was loved by all. Mildred will be sadly missed by her children, Mark (Anne) of London, ON, David (Janice) of Dartmouth, NS, and Diane Brown (Tom) of London, ON; grandchildren, Brian Steeves (Katherine), Kevin (Lindsay), Michael (Amanda) and Colin Steeves (Courtney) and Matthew (Dayna), Graham (Alison) and Rachel Brown (Marc); great-grandchildren Lily, Dylan, Kiana, Preston, Chayce, Andrew and Levi; sister-in-law Geneva McCordick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) with visitation on Friday, February 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Central United Church (150 Queen St.) on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 am with The Reverend Dr. Jim MacDonald officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens following the Reception. Special thanks to the staff of Serenacare for their kindness and loving care.
