Janette Blue
BLUE, JANETTE - Janette D. S. Blue passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Janette was born December 21, 1933 in Cardenden, Scotland to Alexander and Margaret (Stewart) Gibb. Janette is survived by her sister Sandra (Ritchie) and her sons, Robert (Karen) and Malcolm, as well as her grandchildren Emma, Teresa, Julia and Adam. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Dugald, and her brother, Duncan. Janette had a long and varied career since coming to Canada in 1956, working first as a teacher and then as a lawyer. Highlights of her career include teaching law classes at UNB, teaching English to Hungarian student refugees from the Hungarian revolution and editing legal citations for Maritime Law Books. Janette loved living in Fredericton and stayed involved in a variety of community activities. She will also be remembered for her passion for music. She met her husband, Dugald, when she was soloist with the choir at the University of Saint Andrews in Scotland and he was a violinist with the University orchestra. Janette also loved playing the piano and accompanying her musical friends.
