Britta lost her courageous battle with cancer at home with her daughters, son-in-law and husband by her side. Britta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was always there with support, love and counsel for all with whom she came in contact and has a special spot in so many hearts and lives.
Britta was born in Esbjerg, Denmark  and sailed to Canada in 1957 with her parents, two sisters, a brother-in-law and niece and settled in Edmonton. She moved to Vancouver at age 18 and later started a family that grew by two lovely daughters. She led a varied and diverse life. Her life on the Sunshine Coast started shortly after she met Claus at a real estate seminar at UBC in 2003. They have lived and loved there ever since. Fervent and focused, Britta lived life to the full.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Claus, her daughters Lise (Steve) and Tanya (Craig), her step-children Tor and Sofia (Anthony), her sisters Inge (Rudolf) and Hanne (David ), her granddaughters Megan and Ashley, along with her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her elder sister Ellen Delinsky.
A memorial service will be held on March 1, 2014 at 2 pm at the Living Faith Lutheran Church in Davis Bay. In lieu of flowers, please support the Pender Harbour Health Centre whose help made her last journey one of love.
