The death occurred, surrounded by the love of his family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, of Leonard McCormack of Stratford, age 72 years. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his wife, Isabel Carpenter; and his daughter, Alice Ann, of Hong Kong. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gail (Flanagan); and his parents, Annie and Leonard McCormack of Souris. He is survived by sisters and brothers, Helen Marie (Ed McCue deceased), Carol Ann (Fabian) O’Neill, John McCormack (Marilyn Peters), Betsy (Ray) Keenan, Maureen (Alan) Paquet, members of the Carpenter family and numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 12:40 Saturday afternoon, then transferred to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford, for funeral mass at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. If so desired, contributions in Leonard’s memory may be made to the Upper Room. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Members of Our Lady of the Assumption Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Friday at 6:30 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.islandowned.ca.
