Norman Glendenning

GLENDENNING, NORMAN P. - 1925 - 2014 - Miramichi - Norman Peters Glendenning, husband of Jean Glendenning, of Little Branch Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2014, at the age of 88. Born in Black River Bridge, on December 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Elmer A. and Jane E. (Watling) Glendenning. He was a Dairy farmer by occupation and a dedicated member of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge; a trustee in his church; a member of the Northumberland Co-Op; served several years on the Board of Directors for Northumberland Co-Op; a member of the Miramichi Chapter of the Highland Society. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Watling; two daughters, Eileen Glendenning, at home and Loisanne Gregan (Lynn), of Hardwicke; two sons, Alton Glendenning (Roberta) and Eric Glendenning (Jean), all of Little Branch Road; one son in law, Paul Morton, of Moncton; one brother, Donald Glendenning, of P.E.I.; seven grandchildren, Kelli Morton, Danny Morton (Jill), Trevor Morton, Matthew Gregan (Jenna), Christopher Gregan, Jarret Glendenning, Katie Sherrard; five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Grace, Tyler, Spencer, DJ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Judy Morton; five sisters Venetia Russell, Lillian Weeks, Elinor Taylor, Grace Smith, Virginia Glendenning; brothers Walter, John and Kenneth Glendenning.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge, on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 1 pm, conducted by Rev. Derek Krunys. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, or any charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
