Lillian Agnes Yearwood

We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Lillian Agnes Yearwood. Born December 28, 1934 Madoc, Ontario. She died peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 after a long struggle with cancer surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Verna (Gordon) Yearwood of Port Hope Ontario. She is survived by her son Edward McKeen, Calgary, Alberta and her three daughters, Debra Cleveland (Kevin) Amherst N.S., Donna Babcock, Toronto, Ontario Brenda McKeen, Amherst N.S. She will be deeply missed by her 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also her sister Barbara Delaney (Paul) Oshawa Ontario and her brother Doug (Ruth)Yearwood, Napanee, Ontario
She was a mother, businesswoman, and amazing grandmother. She did many things in her lifetime, raised a family, owned and operated a Dairy Queen in Port Hope, Ontario and then in Amherst, Nova Scotia. She also sold real estate for Century 21. One of her hobbies was selling her homemade preserves at the Amherst Farmers Market. She loved time with family and will be deeply missed by us all.
Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). By request there will be no service at this time. Burial will take place in Cobourg, Ontario at a later date.
We would like to thank the VON home care, the nursing staff and the palliative care unit of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to the VON of Cumberland County or the Palliative Care Unit of the CRHCC.
