Passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Sadie, Turk's Cove, at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her husband, Claude. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; Daughters: Sadie Ryan (Robert), Margaret Coates (Robert), Emily Seward (Eric), Sons: John Coates (Ada), Elwood Coates (Marie), Leander Coates (Mary), Joseph Coates (Linda), Ralph Coates (Kim), Jason Coates (Sheri), 22 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren, Sister Doris Taylor (Gus), Stepbrother Robert Andrews (Effie), Sisters-in-law, Marigold Coates, Meta Pitcher, Annie Banton, Alma Coates, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. Visitation will take place at Greens Funeral Home, on Monday February 24, 2014 from 7-9 pm, and Tuesday February 25, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday February 26, 2014, at 2pm, at The Salvation Army, Lower Trinity Corps. Winterton. Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery Winterton.
