Gertrude Charlton
CHARLTON, GERTRUDE - Gertrude (Mersereau) Charlton, of Hoyt, NB, passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on February 23, 2014. Gertrude was born in Hoyt, NB on September 3, 1919 to the late Elsie (Kirkpatrick) and Raymond Mersereau. Gertrude is survived by three sons: Robert (Terry), Kenneth (Dorothy), Edwin (Lynn), one sister, Madeline (Harry) Charlton, one brother, Ralph (Marion) Mersereau, twelve grandchildren: Carrie, Jeremiah, Tara, Laura, Clinton, Keith, Jeffery, Kim, Lloyd, Elizabeth, Barbie, Cheryl, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her husband John Charlton, daughter, Ruth Doiron, son James, sister, Ann McClusky, brothers: Kenneth and Buster Mersereau. Gert was a housewife, mother and farmer and was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse Church.
Following Gertrude’s wishes there will be no visitations. Funeral service will be at the Calvary Pentecostal Church on Thursday, February 27 at 2 pm with Pastor Alan McManus officiating. Interment will be at a later date. You may express your sympathy by making a donation to the Calvary Pentecostal Church or a charity of your choice.
