LEBLANC, BERNADETTE THERESA - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Bernadette LeBlanc which occurred Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1930, she was the daughter of the late William and Elise (Bougeois) Melanson. She loved trailering at Gagnon Park for the past 38 years, walks on the beach and bowling. Bernadette cherished her family, grandchildren and will always be remembered for her joy of life and laughter. She worked for eight years as a teacher in St. Andrè and Little Cape. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Gonzague (Joe); daughters Clementine "Connie" (Bruce) Melanson of Quispamsis, NB, Joanne McPhee of Riverview, NB, Carol Armstrong of Saint John, NB, Rochelle Andersen (Jeff Lingley) of Saint John, NB, Darlene (John) Carruthers of Saint John, NB; sister Edith LeBlanc of Cap-Pelè, NB; Grandchildren Scott (Tina), Christopher (Laura), Michael, Craig (Sarah), Courtney (Alex), Joel (Vanessa), Jacklyn (Eion), Kyle (Marci), Jillian, Liam; great-grandchild Austin. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Marie Martin, Florence Arseneault, Emilienne Oliver and Corinne McGraw.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd (646-2424) with visitation on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Catholic Church on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10 am. Interment will take place at Ste Thérèse d'Avila, Cap-Pelè, NB at a later date.
