BURTT, M. Edward “Eddie”, born in Exeter, N.H. on January 5, 1929, son of William “Bill” Abbot Burtt and Elizabeth “Bessie” Pride (Cole) Burtt. Eddie passed away January 22, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Peterson) Burtt; three sons, Peter (Joanne), Walter (Lindah) and Dana (Luanne). He was predeceased by one son, Fred. Eddie was in the Merchant Marines from 1947-1950. He joined the Marine Corps in 1951-1953, when chest injuries hospitalized him and he received an early honorable discharge. After recuperation he was into logging. In the early 1960’s he started his heavy construction company “The Epping Tractor Company”. After retiring he and his wife Ann spent a lot of time in Louis Head, Nova Scotia. While he was here he restored the Louis Head Community Church, the Louis Head Cemetery and the Pride Cemetery. He also assisted other communities in restoring their cemeteries and took much pride in doing so. Eddie Burtt was a kind man and a good friend to anyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services took place January 24, 2014 at the homestead, followed by burial in the family cemetery.
