OGILVIE, Sidney “Clifton”, 83, Shelburne, passed away peacefully in Roseway Manor on Monday, March 3, 2013. Born in Kingsport, he was a son of the late Sidney and Edith (Simpson) Ogilvie. In his early years he was employed as a cook in restaurants in Halifax. He then joined and spent 28 years in the Military, stationed in London, Ont., Greenwood, Sydney, Baccaro and Shelburne. Cliff enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand-children. He had a love of gardening, cooking, music and sports. He greatly enjoyed the programs at the Manor. He was an avid reader, especially the Halifax Herald in the mornings. Cliff is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gwen; sons, Brian (Evelyn), Elmsdale; Gerry (Debbie), Porters Lake; daughters, Lorraine (Merlyn) Chapman, Jordan Branch; Elaine MacKenzie, Bridgewater; Debbie, Shelburne; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grand-children as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Jean, Kathleen and Irene; and son-in-law, Glen Perry. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. No visitation by request. A memorial service will take place on Friday, March 7 at 2 PM in H.M. Huskilson’s Chapel, Shelburne with Rev. Ed Trevors officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Roseway Manor.
