The death occurred peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, November 10, 2008, of Leona Theresa Pineau (nee Arsenault) of Summerside, aged 78 years. Leona was born on October 31, 1930, in Egmont Bay to her late parents, Victorin and Eufreda (nee Gaudet) Arsenault. Beloved wife of Ivan Pineau and loving mother of David (Janet), Paula (Darrell) Arsenault, Donnie (Karen), Susan (Joe) MacIntrye, Dennis (Barb), all living in Summerside and Allan (Sonia) of St. George, N.B. Also lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Spencer, Jordan, Nathan, Jillian, Danielle, Jessica and Grace, also one great-grandchild Amani and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters, Ned (Arnie) Arsenault of Bathurst, N.B.; Percy (Gina) Arsenault of Montreal, Que, Louis (Evelyne) Arsenault of St. Chrysostome, Antoinette (Ivan) Arsenault of Wellington, Jackie (Melvin) Gallant of St. Chrysostome, Marie Arsenault of Summerside and Lucia (Edmond) Arsenault of St. Chrysostome. Besides her parents, Leona was predeceased by her sister, Irene Bilodeau and her brothers, Raymond, Edgar and Leonard Arsenault. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Friday, November 14, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Leona’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
