The passing of Edith Elizabeth West of Fredericton, N.B., wife of Charles West, occurred peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 10, 1922, in Bathurst, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Lew and Ruth Ward. She was a member of the Wilmot United Church. Edith was an honorary member of R.W. Grand Lodge of the LOBA, N.B. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved watching it grow. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Charles, Edith is survived by her five daughters, Marilyn Seymour (Paul) of Fredericton, Beverley Trueman (Hazen) of Rotunda, Florida, Janet Thibaudeau (late Georges) of Mascouche, P.Q., Karen Garrett (Ron) of Montague, P.E.I., and Lynda Clare (Neil) of Langley, B.C.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her daughter, Kimberley; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Seymour; sister, Ethel Chase; and brother, Clifford Ward. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, November 14, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery.
