The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, March 8, 2014, of Louis Cairns of the South Shore Villa and formerly of Maple Plains, age 80.
Louis is survived by his children, Michael (Julie Barrette-Cairns), Janet Read (Doug), Kevin (Micheline Gallant) and Jennifer Cairns-Burke (Terry Burke); and his grandchildren, Alex and Lucas Cairns; Kristopher, Mallory and Tayler Read; Kelly and Erin Burke; and Brianna Cairns. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Rose Cairns; sisters, Frances Noonan (Pat), Marion Stordy (Gerald) and Phyllis Smith (Arnold); and numerous nieces and nephews. Louis was predeceased by his son, Brian; a daughter at birth; his parents, John and Mary (Spencer) Cairns; and his sister, Louise Noonan (Layton).
There will be no visitation, by personal request. Celebration of funeral mass will take place at St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church, Kinkora, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Malachy's Cemetery.
