Evelynne Jean Allin

Evelynne Jean Allin of Swift Current, SK. passed away March 2, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. She was born at Elrose, SK. July 3, 1943 to the late Bob and Jean McKnight.

Lynne married Bill Allin and raised their family of four children on their farm at Wartime and then in Elrose, SK. After her children were finished their schooling in Elrose, she followed her husband to southern Saskatchewan to live by Fir Mountain and Tompkins where Bill worked on ranches. After her husband’s retirement they moved to an acreage by Hazlet and recently to Swift Current.

Lynne was proud to be a mother and very supportive of her children’s sporting activities. After the death of her eldest son, Lynne became a founding member of the Compassionate Friends, Saskatoon Chapter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, and reading.

Lynne was predeceased by her parents Bob & Jean McKnight and her son Todd Allin. Lynne is survived by her husband Bill Allin; son David Allin, his wife Elaine and grandchildren Taylor & Erin; son Warren Allin, his wife Heather; grandchild Cody Allin, his wife Sarah and great-grandchildren Reese, Payton and Austin; grandchild Josilin and her husband Craig Tschetter; grandchild Billie Jean Allin; daughter Kristin and her husband Gerrit Tamminga; brother Bill McKnight, his wife Bev; and sister Roberta, and her husband Warren Gustafson; as well as beloved nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, March 6, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Elrose United Church with Mr. Jim MacNaughton officiating.
