Stephen Nixon
NIXON, STEPHEN PATRICK - The death of Stephen Patrick Nixon occurred on February 28th, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton on February 13th, 1947; he was a son of the late Walter Reynolds Nixon and the late Elizabeth (Kelly) Nixon. Stephen lived and worked in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick. His major careers were in mining, security, and the cement stucco trade. He also worked for CP Rail and MacMillan Bloedel. When not working Stephen spent much of his time volunteering, teaching English as a second language and feeding the poor and homeless. Throughout his life Stephen loved the water and the wilderness. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of the DECRH and 3SW for their compassion and excellent care of Stephen. Stephen is survived by four siblings; Faith Nixon Yerxa of Ottawa, Walter (Jeannette) Nixon of Boiestown, NB, Wendi Nixon (Myles Golden) and Roberta Nixon of Fredericton, as well as a niece, many nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
There will be an informal Memorial Gathering at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York St, Fredericton on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Auxiliary or a Food Bank of the donor’s choice.
