DICKSON, EDYTHE P. - 1938 - 2014 - Miramichi - Edythe Patricia Dickson, widow of the late Robert W. Dickson, of the South Napan Road, Napan, N.B., passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital early Tuesday morning, March 11, 2014, at the age of 75. Born in Chatham, N.B., on March 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Clara (Young) Searle. She was a retired employee of Service New Brunswick and a member of Carmel United Church, Napan; a former member of the church choir; a former church Elder; a dedicated member of Unit 1 of the U.C.W.; a member of the Center Napan Unit of the W.I.; a member of the Silver Link # 61 Chapter of the Rebecca Lodge. Edythe was also an avid knitter and crocheter. She is survived by one sister, Ella MacDonald, of Sackville; one brother, Bruce Searle (Ruby), of South Napan Road; one sister in law, Betty Searle, of Black River Bridge; one aunt, Marjorie Young, of Miramichi; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2007; one brother Robert Searle, in 2013; one brother in law Hazen MacDonald.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, March 13th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Carmel United Church, on Friday, March 14th, 2014, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, later in the spring. Please note - members of Silver Link # 61 and members of Ever True # 65, Rebecca Lodge, are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon at 1:45 pm for a service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Carmel United Church or the Canadian Diabetic Assoc. would be appreciated by the family.
