It is with great sadness that the family of the late Blanche King announce her peaceful passing at her residence, ­surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, March 12th, 2014 at the age of 91 years. She leaves with fond and loving memories, her children: Kathleen King (Francis Joy) in Stephenville, Patrick in Vancouver, Paul (Tina) in Stephenville and Bernice King (Herb Aucoin) in Stephenville; her godchildren/nieces: Christine MacDonald and Joyce Russell; and a large number of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She also leaves her faithful companion, her cat “ Boo”. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip; her parents, Catherine & Severn; her brothers: Columbus and Bernard; her sisters: Anita, Marquerite, Stella, Pauline, Cecilia and Lydia; and her ­special nephew, Cliff Aucoin. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to her nephew and his wife (Bernie and Joan Bourgeois), Valentina Young and April Madore for their outstanding care, love and compassion shown to their mother during the last six months. The King family would also like to express special thanks to Dr. Alan McComskey for his care, support and guidance; to Father Jim Robertson for his help and comfort; to Debbie Reid-Loder for her assistance prior to their mother's ­illness. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 14th, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 15th 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stephen’s Parish on West St. with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
