NOLAN, VINCENT "VINCE" RAYMOND - The death of Vince Nolan of Embassy Hall-Shannex, Quispamsis, formerly of Saint John, husband of the late Theresa (McIntyre) Nolan occurred on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at his residence. Born in Chatham on October 2, 1926, he was the son of the late James and Helen (Cable) Nolan. Vince worked in the electrical supply industry and began his working career at Fairbank Morris in the 1940's. His career continued at Hopper Electrical and he retired from the Eddy Group in 1989. A loyal Dodgers fan, Vince was always passionate about baseball. He enjoyed his time pitching for the St. Peter's seniors ball team in the 1940's and also enjoyed the many years he spent coaching. His other passion in life was spending time with his granddaughters, who will forever remember their grandfather as loving and kind. He will always be lovingly remembered. Vince is survived by his daughters, Kim Dunlop (Larry) of Saint John and Kathy Nolan (Art Exner) of Saskatchewan; brother, Bill Nolan (Betty) of Saint John; precious granddaughters, Kate Morrison (Brad) of Lantz, NS, Kelsey Dunlop and Laura Dunlop both of Saint John; special niece, Theresa Speight (Dale) of Saint John; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Vince was also predeceased by sisters, Betty Pitt, Helen Nolan and Mary Kindred; as well as brothers, Walter and Raymond Nolan.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter's Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
