59, Sydney/Charlottetown. Hugh Alexander MacEachern passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after battling cancer. Born on September 16, 1949, in Inverness, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Alex Jim and Agnes (MacQuarrie) MacEachern. Surviving are his sister, Cathy (Alvin) Croken, Howie Centre, N.S.; niece, Bethany (Kent) Johnstone; nephew, Aron, P.E.I.; uncles and cousins. Besides his parents, Hugh was predeceased by a brother, Hugh Daniel, in infancy. Visitation will take place in the vestry of St. Mary’s Church, Mabou, Friday, November 21, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Angus Morris officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery fund.
