STELLARTON – Joyce Rebecca Ann (Ripley) Dawson, 75, Stellarton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 26, 2014, surrounded by family in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Maccan, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ripley and Joyce Margaret (MacMaster) (Ripley) MacCarthy.
Joyce enjoyed family genealogy, doing puzzles, crocheting and spending time at home with her cat, Muggins. Her legacy is the values and work ethic she instilled in her children.
Surviving are her son, Robert “Bob” (Carolyn) Dawson, Burton, NB; daughters: Margaret Tibbetts, New Glasgow; Mary-Scott (Raymond) Windsor, Hopewell; Kim (Trevor) Jordan, Garden of Eden; grandchildren: Rachael (Chris), Phillip (Laura), Sarah, Josh, Santana, Joey, Michael, Sheldon, David and Jarrett; great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Chelsea.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bertrum George “Bert” Dawson.
In honour of Joyce’s wishes, a private gathering and service will be held.
Donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
