It is with broken hearts that we, the family of Barbara MacPherson, announce her passing on March 27, 2014, in the Glace Bay Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Barbara was a remarkable woman with countless friends, many of whom she met during her working-life at the Modern Co-op in Glace Bay. She was a parishioner of the former St. Eugene’s Parish, Dominion and was a long-time member of the choir.
Barbara is survived by her three sons, Kevin (Lynn), Gardiner Mines, Charles (Carla), Dartmouth and Stephen (Barbara), Cole Harbour. “Gram” will truly be missed by her three cherished grandchildren, Meghan, Colin and Mason. She is also survived by her brothers, Kevin (Sharon) Corbett, Rannie (Diane) Corbett and by sister, Elaine Corbett; as well by her nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Charles (Dewey) MacPherson and by her parents, John and Lizzie Corbett.
Visitation for Barbara will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31st, at Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in St. Eugene’s Parish Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in Barb’s memory may be made to the St. Eugene’s Cemetery Fund, The Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
