David Bray

Passed in: Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada
Passed on: March 25th, 2014

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin David as a result of a motor vehicle accident on March 25th, 2014 in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
David was well known and respected for his dedication to family, support of friends, strong work ethic, and wonderful sense of humour. David always had a story to tell and a joke to share. There is little he would not do to bring a smile to someone’s face.
Originally from Cape Breton, David spent many years working in Western Canada on the pipelines. He was thrilled to spend several years working side by side with his son Michael, whose career he has watched grow with pride.
A lover of music, David was an excellent harmonica and guitar player. He was immensely proud of his daughter Charlee’s musical talent, which he always supported and encouraged.
David’s dream was to move home and split his time between his home in Port Morien and cottage in Southside Boularderie where he shared many wonderful moments with his family.
Predeceased by his father Thomas, nephew Neil, stepfather Charles, and several aunts and uncles. David is survived by his son Michael (Kerri), daughter Charlee; mother Audrey (George); stepmother Karen; brothers Paul (Lois), Gary, and Keith; sisters Joanne and Karla (Alexander); nieces and nephews Jennifer (Henry), Brent (Amanda), Stephen (Carrie), David (Carissa), Paul, Maurice (Songhee), Alexandra, and Aymée; as well as several aunts and uncles, many cousins, and the mother of his children Sherry Wielgoz.
Visitation will take place at Curry’s Funeral Home in Glace Bay Friday, April 4th, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Morien at 11am on Saturday, April 5th, 2014, followed by burial at St. Joachim’s Church, Boularderie at a later date.
Flowers may be sent to Curry’s funeral home and donations may be made the Parkinson Society of Canada in memory of David and his father.
