John Joseph Reid
We, the family of John Joseph Reid, would like to express a sincere thank-you to all the wonderful people who helped along the way during Jackie's illness and passing and for the support and generosity so many shared with us in our time of sadness. The doctor's and staff of the CB Regional Health Authority struggled until the end to find a cure when none could be found. Your dedication will be remembered. The tender love and care provided by the Regional Hospital's Palliative Care Unit was much more than clinical. You were always welcoming and supportive to Jack and his whole family, as we filled the hallways and rooms of the PCU. In a stage of life that is most challenging, you provide an extraordinary facility with an atmosphere of home. One of Jackie's last wishes was to come home to the house he had built for his family and the special services provided by the VON helped make this a reality. The professionalism and true compassion of Basil and staff of V.J. McGillivray's Funeral Home in New Waterford was above and beyond what might be expected during this difficult time. Jackie's send-off was extra special and certainly one to be remembered. Thank-you to all those who took part in the funeral: the priests, altar servers, readers, pallbearers, gift-bearers, choir and musicians - especially Jackie's best friend, Tommy, giving him the tribute he deserved. We would also like to thank the CWL for their time in putting on the beautiful reception. To family and friends who traveled from near and far to give their condolences, and to those who sent food, monetary support, donations to a variety of charities, beautiful flowers and comforting refreshments - your thoughts, prayers and deeds continue to be a source of comfort and strength as we begin to carry on.
