Karen Elizabeth Robbins of St. John's passed away suddenly the morning of Wednesday, April 9 at the Health Sciences Centre after a long battle with chronic illness. She was 47. Karen is predeceased by her father George, whom she loved and admired dearly and with whom she had a tender, lifelong bond. She leaves behind her devoted husband John and her loving son Cory, sisters Debbie (Dave) and Sandra (Marcus), mother Ivy, and many other relatives in Whitbourne and elsewhere. Karen was a person of unique altruism, warmth, and selflessness. She was gentle-hearted, sensitive and deeply committed to her family, and her inner courage and strength, as well as her loving spirit, will be dearly remembered and forever missed. Her life and her benevolent, forgiving nature were testaments to the human capacity for virtue, goodness and mercy. Special thanks to the many physicians, nurses, professionals and caregivers who supported her over the years. Cremation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home.
