GOSSE, Gordon Edward– Tuesday, 02 December 2008. Gordon Edward Gosse, MMM, CD, passed away peacefully in Chilliwack, BC on 02 December, 2008 in his 60th year. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Geri; son Robert (Kerry) of Ottawa, Ont; daughter Nicole (Mike) of Abbotsford, BC; grandsons: Hayden, Seamus, Henry; granddaughter Morgan; sister Alice (Cutler) Drew of Vermont, USA; brothers: Cyril (Judy) of Sicamous, BC, Robert (Anne) of Salmon Arm, BC, Raymond (Gloria) of Whitbourne, Nfld, and sister Harriet (Lester) Rees of Whitbourne, Nfld. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Cyril and Hattie Gosse; sister Florence and brother David. He was born in Whitbourne, Nfld in August 1948, the seventh of eight children. He joined the PPCLI Canadian Army (Regular) in 1967 and served as an Infantryman and Administrative Clerk until his retirement in 1995 with the rank of Warrant Officer. Gordon was Invested in the Order of Military Merit (Member) in 1992. He enjoyed his military career immensely and had many anecdotes on the personalities and situations he encountered. He was an avid golfer; a charter member of the Falls Golf & Country Club. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Henry Maurice Assembly. After retirement he and Geri liked to travel and had wonderful experiences in Europe, the Mediterranean and the USA. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Chilliwack on Saturday, 06 December 2008. In lieu of floral tributes, donations to the Chilliwack Public Library are appreciated.
