William Bamford

BAMFORD, WILLIAM A. - William “Bill” Bamford, 77, of Orton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014. Bill is the son of the late Harold and Grace (Drew) Bamford. Sergeant Bill Bamford was a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, formerly stationed in Ft. Erie and Toronto Ontario. Also a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces, stationed in Kingston Ontario. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time teaching his children and grandchildren his “master campcrafter” skills. Bill was also a proficient woodworker and a skillful wood carver, with some of his work being displayed at RCMP headquarters in Toronto. Bill was born in Apple River, NS and resided in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario, although Bill was always drawn to his Maritime roots. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Thomas), and loved by sister, Nancy Adamczyk (Rick) of Elgin, NB; brother, Doug (Geneva) of Moncton, NB, Ron (deceased) (Inez) of Amherst, NS, son Doug (Marianne); son Martin (Angela), daughter Judy (Gary), daughter Cindy (John), daughter Cathy (Brad), son David (Brandy) , son Alan (Terry) and many grandchildren.
A memorial celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Erin, Ontario Legion, with all family and friends welcome anytime between 1pm and 4pm. Interment in Grove Cemetery, Orton Ontario, with immediate family, at a later date. In Bill’s memory, donations to the Canadian Lung Association or memorial of the donor’s choice are appreciated.
