Melanson, Catherine, 87 of Digby, passed away Sunday April 6, 2014 at home. Born in Clyde Banks, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Riley. Catherine was involved with her church all of her life. She volunteered for the food bank for seventeen years. She worked at the Margolians Clothing Store, Sears, Digby Post Office and for the Elections. Catherine enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, bowling, reading and had a love of travel and had travelled all over the world. Catherine was a loving person to her husband, children, grand and great grand children. She was a very kind and loving person to those that knew her. She will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by husband, Carl Melanson; sons, David, William and Gary; daughter, Carla; brother, William Riley. Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Underhill. There will be no visitation or funeral service by family request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel (902-538-9900).
