It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ralph Douglas Reid, age 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Predeceased by his parents Victoria and Harold Reid; sisters: Shirley Ludwig and Ida Pike; and son-in-law George Lewis. Leaving to mourn his wife of 69 years, Marjorie (nee Sharpe); sons: Harold (Bev), and David (Joy); daughter Geraldine; grandchildren: Sherry Reid (Russ), Chene Reid (Jenny), Cory Peach, and Samantha Peach (O.J.); great-grandchildren: Michaela & Jack, and Sydney & Jack; special family friend Marie Lewis; sisters: June (Jeff Bungay), Ruby French, Hazel Sparkes, and Mabel Starkes; sisters-in-law: Florence (Fred Anderson), Margaret McGregor, and Elsie Parsons; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends from all walks of life. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, however, Funeral Service will be held from Barrett's Funeral Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road columbarium.
