It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Anthony 'Vido' Boutilier on Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Born in Glace Bay, September 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Anthony 'Tony' and Edith (MacLean) Boutilier.
Vido grew up in Reserve Mines and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time hunting, fishing and camping with Lenny and his brothers-in-law. He enjoyed playing darts, competing in several competitions; he also played as a disc-jockey and liked to sit back and play his guitar. He also looked forward to and enjoyed his many get-togethers with his best and long-time friend Emmanuel 'Manny' Burke. Vido will mainly be remembered as a kind, gentle, easygoing man who loved his children, family, friends and his cat 'Bo-Bo'.
Anthony will be sadly missed by his loving children; Danny MacNeil, Angela MacNeil, Jennifer Nichols, Stephanie MacNeil and their mother Marie MacNeil-Pushie; special friend Emily MacNeil and grandchildren Sarah and Danielle. He is also survived by sisters Myrna (Peter) Dohan, Della (Joe) MacLeod, Joan (Jim) Costello, Kemerly Boutilier, Barbara (Wally) Hill; brother Leonard; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Vido will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday April 24, 2014 in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Friday, at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery, Glace Bay.
Memorial donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Ass. or a charity of choice.
