Andrew dedicated his life serving God and his people. He was a Cross Bearer for the Sacred Mi’kmaq Cross (200 years old) belonging to our Hereditary Grand Chief John Denny Sr. (Sai). He opened the Cross every Good Friday and distributed it to the sick, the elderly, and those who needed it. He was honoured with this prestigious duty from the Sai family in 2006. Andrew also worked for Saint Ann at the Chapel Island Mission as a Keeper of the Sacred Stone well for the Holy Water. He made sure that holy water he used was from Saint Ann de Beaupre, Quebec. Andrew and his brother, Allan, carried a Commemorative Cross for the 400 years baptism of Chief Membetou who was the first Mi’kmaq to be baptized in the Catholic religion. Andrew was an usher in Holy Family Parish. He participated in the Annual Memorial Mass at Malagawatch First Nation.
