It is with great sadness the family of Edward Wilfred Burton announce his passing on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s, at the age of 67. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Barbara; son, Jason (Angie); grandson, Cameron Pike and his beloved family pet, Kimmy; sisters and brothers: Marjorie Brake (Wilbur), Barbara Billard (Clarence), Bill Burton (Nora), Lorne Burton (Betty), Marie Baldwin (Charles), Norma Barsi (Wayne), Gary Burton (Myrtle); as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred & Hannah Burton; nieces: Paula Burton and Colleen Pennell. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Curling Street, Pastor Wendy Lowden officiating; ­followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of ­sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
