Elmer Wetmore
WETMORE, ELMER S., CD - Elmer S. Wetmore, CD, 94, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Leslie St., Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Born in Moncton, Elmer was the son of the late George and Georgina (McBrien) Wetmore. Elmer was retired from the CNR Accounting Department (35 years service). He was a member of Mountain View United Church, a Veteran of WWII having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army H.Q. First Army in Continental Europe (1941 – 1947). He served with the Militia Group Moncton (15 years service) and was a member of the Air Force Veterans Club, the 31 Club, Moncton Legion Branch #6, CN Supervisors Club and the CN Pensioners Association. Elmer will be sadly missed by his sons, Wayne (Patricia) of Amherst, Nova Scotia and Greg (Alex) of Palm Springs, California; sisters, Iva Bradley (Leverett) of Clifton Royal, NB and Lois Faulkner (Bernie) of Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Muriel (Patriquin) Wetmore (January 1989) and two sisters, Beulah Garland and Luella Cameron.
Arrangements were made by Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) with no visitation hours by personal request. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held at Air Force Veterans Club (494 St. George St.) Moncton, Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
