Passed peacefully away on April 25, 2014 at St. Luke's Home, The Rev. Canon James Coffin, aged 83. Predeceased by his parents William and Susanna, wife of 42 years Rosalie, infant son Keith, sister Dorothy Gillett, her husband Lawrence Gillett, brother Wilfred Coffin, his wife Mary Coffin, and brother-in-law Lester Walters. Leaving to celebrate his life are his daughter Heather McDonald, son-in-law Matthew McDonald, granddaughter Rochelle McDonald, all residing in Larkhill, Wiltshire, England, son Wayne Coffin, daughter-in-law Lorie Coffin, residing in Surrey, B.C, sister-in-law Inez Walters, sister-in-law Dawn Grace, her husband Larry Grace, all of Brampton, Ontario, brother-in-law Murray Gosse, his wife Rita Gosse, of St. Andrews, N.B. and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Cambridge Estates and St. Luke's Home for taking care of Dad during the last years of his life. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's, on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to be held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Westerland Road, St. John's, NL on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road, St. John's.
