Floris G. "Flossie" Walker – Has seen a lot of changes in her almost 97 years of life. Flossie passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Melville Lodge in Spryfield, NS. She was the last surviving sister of the nine "Eisenhauer Girls" of Canaan, Kings Co. NS. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald from Nottingham, England; her parents, Nathan and Lydia (Vaughan) Eisenhauer; her sisters, Thelma, Eva, Jennie, Edith "Renie", Erma, Dorothy "Dot", Mildred "Joey" and Catherine, as well as her son-in-law, Roger Aalders. Surviving with fond memories are children, Donna and Barry (Laverne); grandchildren, Julie (Timothy), Tony (Leigh-Ann), Christopher (Cristin), Rhonda (Brent) and Dennis (Erica); great-grandchildren, Celina, Vitoria, Connor, Rebecca, Logan, Alessandra, Benjamin, Griffin, Havana, Larkin and Cali. Flossie lived in New Minas, being an active member of the Good Neighbor Club, the Baptist Church and enjoyed fun times with her Seniors Club (Queen of the card parties). She was an admitting clerk at the BFM Hospital in Kentville. She also lived in Gaspereau Valley alongside son, Barry (Laverne) and in Timberlea with daughter, Donna (Roger). A very special thank you goes to the nursing staff of Melville Lodge for their compassion, support and care during her stay there. Visitation took place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 3014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A reception followed in the reception room of the funeral home. A private family burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Minas Baptist Church, the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice.
