SPRACKLIN, Leslie Milton– Passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his loving family on December 18, 2008, Leslie Spracklin, aged 91 years. Leslie served honorably in World War II with the 166th Nfld. Field Regiment, R.A. in North Africa and Italy, a proud soldier to the end. Predeceased by his wife Barbara (Ivany) in 2000; his brothers Alex (1992) and Don (2007). Leaving to mourn his sons: Rick (Jan), Gerry (Mikki), Ron (Jackie) and daughter Penni (Keith Gover). Grandpa sadly leaves behind nine grandchildren Tracy (Terry Hudson), Dan (fiancée Alexandra Penney), Lesley (Karl Reid), Damien (friend Lana Richardson), Kate, Matthew (fiancée Nikki Bis-Saunders), Jennifer, Sophia and Hilary; two great-grandchildren Juliette and Dawson, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. The Spracklin family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Catherine West, Willamina O'Brien, Nellie Cunningham and all caregivers, especially Ellen Peddle (VON) for the loving care and support. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, December 21 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Cowan Heights United Church. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor. No flowers upon request. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Epilepsy Society or a charity of one’s choice.
