It is with great sadness and a profound sense of love that our family announces the passing of our truly amazing patriarch at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was ready to meet his Maker and the Lord mercifully took him into his arms and eased his suffering.
He was the son of “Double A” and Ida LeClair. Survived by his sister Stephanie (Carl) Bradley, his wife Doris (Lund), and children David (Holly), Valerie (Wayne) Handren, Stephen (Mariel), Wade (Debbie), Cynthia (David) Doiron and Lori (Andrew) Graham. Dad had nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His passing truly marks the end of an era and each member of his extended family will forever cherish their loving memories of the times spent with him.
He was a Second World War Naval veteran and served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of war, and was a recipient of the Veteran Recognition Award for his service.
Both Dad and Mom had been extremely active Legion committee members. He was a compassionate man who possessed incredible “joie de vie”. His talents were extensive including, ball player, hockey player, cribbage player, fly fisherman extraordinaire, and oyster ball maker. He was above all a family man who was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him.
