Bertha Katherine Cormier

It is with great sadness that the family of Bertha Katherine Cormier age 83, of Amherst announce her passing on Friday, May 2, 2014 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, NS.
Born in Walton, Hants County she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Olive (Dupuis) Babineau.
Bertha enjoyed quilting, sewing and all crafts.
She is survived by two sons Edgar (Betty) of Port Hood, NS and Jude Jr. (Gloria) of Amherst, one daughter Judy (Duncan) Carter of Amherst Head, Ronnie (Norma) Hunter, Amherst, three brothers William (Lucie) Babineau of Truro, Raymond (Joyce) Babineau of Moncton and Paul (Judy) Babineau of Saint John, NB, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Bertha was predeceased by her husband Jude (Sam) Sr., a sister Elizabeth and brother John in infancy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 2 -4 and 7 – 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Charles – Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Memorial donations in Bertha’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society.
