Mary Lee O'Dell - 55, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the VG Site, QEII Hospital, Halifax. Born in Wolfville, Kings County, she was a daughter of Ona (Bigelow) Spicer, Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville and the late Lawrence "Mike" Spicer. She had worked for many years at both Towers and Zellers Department Stores, New Minas and later at Foote's Farm Market, Centreville. She had been a girl guide leader in Centreville and had taught Sunday School at the Centreville Baptist Church. Mary was a great cook and enjoyed crafts, including knitting and sewing. She is survived by her husband, Corey; two daughters, Christina and Catherine, both of Kentville; a son, Corey, Wolfville; a chosen granddaughter, Ella May Cashin. She was predeceased by a sister, Lydia O'Dell. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by family request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 9, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Chaplain Reverend Mary Anne Doherty-Fleet officiating. Burial will take place in the Habitant Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation.
