Passed peacefully away with her ­family at her side at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Monday, May 5, 2014, Hilda Gillingham at the age of 102 years. She will be lovingly ­remembered by sons: William (Beatrice) and Lloyd (Lola), all of Cormack; daughters: Lillian LeCointre, Gull Pond, Maisie (Wallace) Leboubon, Pasadena, Marion (Eric), Hearts Delight, Ivy (Gord) Clarke, Corner Brook; 28 grandchildren; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren & great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel (Raymond), Victoria, BC; sisters-in-law: Pearl and Eunice; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas (1958); parents, Alexander and Mary Wells; sister, Cordelia; brothers: William, Wallace and Clyde; sister-in-law, Alice and son-in-law, Martin. Friends may visit St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove on Wednesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Charlene Laing ­officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
