ROBICHEAU, Ann Higby – 79, of Hebron, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away on April 11, 2014 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with her daughter by her side. Born in Yarmouth, N.S. on June 16, 1934 she was a daughter to the late Herman and Adeline (Porter) Brown. Ann was a member of the Beacon United Baptist Church and member of the Yarmouth Hospital Auxiliary. Ann was a great supporter of the community and received her 10 year service medal for volunteer work with the Canadian Red Cross and volunteer of the year award from the Y.M.C.A. She also was an instructor with the Y.M.C.A, directed plays at Th'Yarc and served with the Ground Observer Corp R.C.A.F for 3 years. She had many jobs throughout her career including tour guide, bartender, nurse, and associate director for the Western Nova Scotia Exhibition. In her spare time she loved to knit, quilt, sew, bake, and Frenchy shop. She also had a love of music with some of her favorites being Rod Steward, The Eagles, and the occasional Nickleback. She is survived by daughter, Barbara (Mark) Firth, Wellington, Yarmouth Co., N.S. Besides her parents she was predeceased by first husband, Alan Higby and second husband, Raymond Robicheau; and sister, Jean. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. As per Ann’s wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service in Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery will take place May 18, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in June 2014.
