Gillis, Sonny – At the Kings County Memorial Hospital, the passing of Sonny Gillis, age 68 of Murray Harbour North, devoted husband of Helen (Kennedy) Gillis occurred with his loving family by his side. Born in Wolfville, NS, he was the son of Thelma (Pulsifer) and the late Venning Gillis. Sonny is survived by his loving children, Jeffrey (Shelley Pyne), Suzanne (Shane) Duffy; sisters, Dawn (Doug) Forbes, Marilyn (Bruce) Scott; sisters-in-law, Barb (Philip) Whidden, Pauline (Joey) Christian; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Gillis, Sonny Gillis, Carmelita Duffy, Alexandria Duffy, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home Chapel. Interment took place in the Murray Harbour North Cemetery.
