Basil Goodine

GOODINE, BASIL - Basil Ralph Goodine, 82, of Colpitts Settlment, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Plaster Rock, he was the son of the late Fred and Muriel (McCaskill) Goodine. Basil was a Radar Tech with the Royal Canadian Air Force for twenty years, then worked as a Quality Assurance Officer for sixteen years with the Ministry of Transportation. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles, working on old cars and picking fiddleheads, and Basil really enjoyed time with his friends at MacDonalds in Magnetic Hill. He is survived by his wife Sarah of Colpitts Settlement; sons David (Kathy) of Waverly, NS, Everett (Cindy) of Forks, SK, Basil Jr. (Crisita Lee) and Steven (Debbie) both of Colpitts Settlement; daughter Judith Rogers of Salisbury; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Dale (Hazel) of USA and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Donnie, James, Winnifred, Archie and David; sisters Florence, Nan and Dorothy and son-in-law Adrien Rogers.
There is no visitation or service by request. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home and Crematorium, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800). If desired, donations to ALS or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
