Passed away on Thursday, May 8th, 2014 in his 90th year, Cyril Lynch of Outer Cove, Veteran of WWII, 4th Canadian Armoured Division R.C.C.S. He Served in Europe and was awarded a special medal by the Dutch Government for his participation in the liberation of Holland. He is a member of Branch 56, Pleasantville of the Royal Canadian Legion. Predeceased by his son David (May 16, 2010); parents James and Gertrude Lynch; brothers Jack, Stan, Jerry and Jim; his sisters Molly (Doug Beer) and Pauline (Joe King); and nephews Gerald and Paul Lynch. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years Katherine (nee Hickey); sons Bill (Greta), Cyril (Pamela), Joseph (Yvonne) and Mark (Christina) and daughter Anne Miller (Morris); grandchildren: Christopher, Ashley, Abby Chen, Mackenzie, Samantha, Morgan and Shane; daughter-in-law Christine Berraj Lynch and other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Visitation on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 ? 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Francis of Assisi Church, Outer Cove. Interment to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
