Marion Mitton
MITTON, MARION - Mitton, Marion Ruth (Trueman) of Moncton and formally of Riverview and Pointe-du-Chêne passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at The Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. She was the daughter of the late Rix (1928) and Georgina (1989) Trueman.
It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to a special lady, our
Mother and friend. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Myers (Guy) and son Stephen Mitton (Joyce); grandchildren Nancy (Darren), Stephen (Stephanie), Trevor and Angela (Jon); great-grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Evangeline and Lincoln. Also, sharing in the loss are several nieces and nephews. She will be forever in our hearts...
In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband, Manning Mitton (1975), her sisters Marjorie Hickey (2000) and Shirley MacDonald (2012) and her step-father Lloyd Turner (1990).
Marion retired in 1988 from the Moncton Number 5 Supply Depot, and also worked for many years at the T. Eaton Company. Mom cherished many past times over the years but especially enjoyed beaching at Pointe-du-Chêne and Florida, gardening, playing bridge, curling and golfing. In her 70s, she turned to painting and created many wonderful and varied works of art of exceptional quality. She has left us with many fond memories and cherished keepsakes of her many talents. Marion was a member of the First Moncton United Baptist Church in Moncton N.B. transferring there in 1949. Until recently, she was active within the church and was a member of the Evelyn Eaton Group (WMS) and the Fellowship First. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for the special attention and care they gave Mom while she was a resident.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of her life, will be performed at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Marion's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society (Dementia) or a memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, (506) 852-3530. We invite you to sign an online book of condolences at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
