STEWART, COLLEEN - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen (McCarthy) Stewart of East Sullivan, NH after a valiant fight with cancer on April 19, 2014. She was the cherished wife of Alfred (Fred) Stewart, daughter of the late Linus McCarthy and Patricia (McCallum) McCarthy of Quispamsis, NB. She is also survived by brothers Thom and Terry of Moncton and Sean (Kerry-Lynn) of Kirkland, QU and sister Norah (Ron) Soobratee of Quispamsis, her step children Michael (Paula) and Kevin (Loren), Eric (Gail) all of Massachusetts, 9 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also survived by nieces Caitlin and Erin Soobratee, Kiera and Lauren McCarthy and nephew James McCarthy. Colleen was born in Amherst, NS and moved several times with her family growing up finally settling in Saint John. She met Fred in 1978 and moved to Ellsworth, ME. She and Fred resided in Danvers, Mass and on the Cape for a number of years prior to moving to Keene, NH in the early 90s. In addition to her father, Colleen was predeceased by her infant brother, Kevin.
A Mass in Colleen’s memory will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish on May 31, 2014 in Rothesay.
